Zakat

Zakat calculator

What is Zakat?

Zakat is the third pillar of Islam — a compulsory annual payment of 2.5% on wealth held above the Nisab threshold for one full lunar year (Hawl). It purifies wealth and supports those in need.

"Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah's blessings] upon them."Quran 9:103

Nisab Threshold

Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must own before Zakat becomes obligatory. It equals the value of 85 g of gold or 595 g of silver — whichever is lower.

Hawl (One Lunar Year)

Zakat is due only when the same wealth has been owned continuously for one full lunar year (354 days). Use this calculator to estimate your Zakat at the end of each Hawl.
